Attending second birth as a doula
Couple of days ago, I had my second experience attending a birth as a doula, and would like to congratulate Ana y Adonai for the birth of a healthy and cute baby boy! I truly admire this wonderful couple after seeing how strong, brave, and united they were during the day Ana was birthing their son. They were calm, nice and even charming in their gentle care of each other. Furthermore, they were very courageous when it was time to face the necessity to follow plan B after many hours of patiently trying everything possible to make their dream birth come true. Thank you, my heroes, for the honor of being your doula and for the opportunity to learn from this experience so challenging for you. It shows us once again how unpredictable birth can be and how important it is to have the proper preparation and support team for any birth scenario. I’m very happy that everything turned out well for you and your precious baby.
I wish the mother a swift healing and both of you – multiple discoveries of joy in parenting!
As for me, this experience completes the requirements of practice needed for my certification, which means I will no longer provide my doula services for free. In the meantime, I plan to put working as a doula on hold for some time as the birth of my own baby is approaching rapidly. I will keep blogging, however, as it is my pleasure to share with you new, exciting, and inspirational information about birth and motherhood.
